This is an intricately decorated jar with capped mountain forms in the neck, cloud forms under the rim, volutes, triangles with embedded raindrops, etc. There is a wide red band at the top of the underbody, indicating 19th century origin. The patina is rich; the coloration is deep and their is a pink cast that covers the jar completely; gorgeous! It has an indented bottom indicative of anticipated use as a water jar, perhaps for a child.

This is a superb 19th century small jar!

Provenance: From a prestigious western U.S. collection
