Karen Clarkson, Choctaw
In her own words:
"I am definitely drawn towards the human form in all its strength and beauty. Some of my earliest memories of childhood are of drawing people. I remember when I was in 4th grade and I drew a picture of my teacher (which I thought looked exactly like her). Imagine my dismay when I had to stay after school as punishment!"
Many of Karen's work are of native Americans, but she also paints landscapes, still life, powerful ledger art and other styles. She is a multiple ribbon winner at Santa Fe Indian Market, the Heard Museum Indian Art Show and the Choctaw Indian Arts Show among others. Karen resides in Prescott, AZ.
