Santo Domingo Small Olla with Dots and Rug Designs, c. 1910

Delightful small (not tiny) child sized water jar with 3 district design fields. In the neck are 2 narrow bands of black triangles suggesting water (pueblo pottery designs are so often about water). These bands are separated by framing lines. The main design are linked elements of dots encased in pods or germinating seeds and then what appears to be Indian rugs! Most unusual!

Condition near fine with a glued back
small rim chip, no additional restoration
Provenance a California collection
