Santo Domingo Dough Bowl with Possibly Running Waters Motif, c. 1920
Classic and good sized Santo Domingo bowl with a lovely surface and some subtle fire clouds, like looking at the ground through fog. The design is arrayed in traditional panels depicting mirror image flowing water forms, all symmetrical and skillfully rendered. The inner bowl is slipped red and beautifully polished. This is quiet and simple beauty; the kind that remains satisfying.
