Large Santo Domingo Olla with 5 Birds, c. 1900

Large attention grabbing jar features 5 mid body birds with flowers and leaves. The surface is warm with a tobacco colored patina.  The black is deep and consistent.  The form is elegant with a flaring rim.  Three sets of framing lines separate the leaf designed neck from the mid body birds and finally the lower portion downward facing triangles, possibly rain symbols.  There is a wide underbody band indicative of an early 20th century jar.  A lovely example.

Condition: Good with 2 professionally restored cracks
