Jemez Micaceous Swirl Jar with 20 Ribs by Dominique Toya
Dominique just brought 3 new jars, one more beautiful than the next; they are are magnificent as a set of 3. This one is a stunning example of her flag-ship swirl jars, inspired by her admiration for Santa Clara pottery master, Nancy Youngblood. It is globular in form with 20 ribs, colored only by the natural orange clay, highlighted by abundant mica flecks. Simple elegance. If we're lucky, Dominique will be demonstrating how she makes her swirl jars in July at the gallery.
