Acoma Award-Winning Large Four Color Olla With Eight Birds and Rainbows by Delores Juanico
This spectacular olla is Delores Juanico stretching to a glorious achievement. It won a special ribbon at the 2017 Heard Museum Indian Market, and it is easy to see why. The jar is traditionally coil constructed to perfection, and stunningly painted with local mineral paints. Delores employed an unusual and very old brown/red slip, a slip used in the 1880's at Acoma. Traditionally fired – a spectacular jar, indeed!
